May 08, 2021 A Mother’s Day prayer from my Granddaughter Tonight we pray for the momma who is tired. Lord, her mind is tired, her body is tired, and yes even her heart is tired. Tonight she just needs to know that it's all going to be ok. Lord, there are so many reasons right now that are draining her strength. Lord, help each momma tonight. Just as You provided manna in the wilderness for each day, and a double portion on the days when they were supposed to rest, please give this momma strength each morning for the day ahead. Help her to rest tonight. We ask in Jesus's name, Amen. The Lord be with each and every Mom, every day! Tomorrow we will celebrate Mother’s Day at Dekorra Lutheran. As you enter the parking lot, Dekorra Men For Christ will give each of the ladies a special gift to show our appreciation for all that you ladies do for the families of Dekorra. I would like to thank all of you who participated in last weeks “yellow bag” collection. Because of your unselfish and caring nature, we were able to distribute 33 bags of supplies to the three food pantries. Our support is deeply appreciated. I believe Dekorra is still looking for volunteers to help plant and take care of the various floor beds around the building. This could be a great family event. Each family would take responsibility for one of the floor beds and maintain it throughout the growing season. Just a reminder that we are holding a “special” congregational meeting on June 06th right after the 10am service. We will be discussing the new sound and video system that we would like to install. The congregation needs to approve the funding for this project at this meeting. We will try to get as much info to you as we can before the meeting, so that you can make an informed decision. The property committee will be scheduling a work day in the near future. We will be replacing the old carpet by the front doors to the sanctuary, fertilizing the lawn, trimming some trees and installing the new light pole in the parking lot. The constitution re-write committee has had 2 meetings and we are making progress. It is a slow process as we go over each section and get an understanding of it, so that we will be able to explain it to the congregation and have you vote on it. I have attached the announcements and the worship bulletin for your information. I hope to see you all on Sunday. Time to do some work around the farm. William, a Disciple of Christ Christianity, in its purest form, is nothing more than seeing Jesus. Christian service, in its purest form, is nothing more than imitating Him who we see. To see His Majesty and to imitate Him, that is the sum of Christianity! williamaschleichert@gmail.com 608-697-4434(c)
